life keeps changing, and some days it is hard to keep up. i read somewhere that liberals are generally less happy than conservatives because we bear a sense of responsibility for the state of the world. i don’t know if that’s true, but it is true that i tend to see the brokenness, and i do feel a weight of trying to make it better. or at least helping others see it too. i’m a pastor, responsible for preaching every week. which cannot be done well apart from seeing the world.

i don’t think that means all is woe, and i hope you don’t experience that here. i just keep looking for the hope, for the world of enough, for the transformation we know is possible. perhaps you can see all that in my photography, hear it in my sermons and liturgies, find it reflected in the list of books i choose to read and review.
